I call the station "Fresh" because I play the latest music, and I call it "Blend" because I play music from a variety of styles. I believe, this was the way music radio was meant to be.
The impression people get from today's mainstream radio is that there's no good, new music out there. I believe the problem is with mainstream radio. They would rather play it safe by playing a heavy dose of older proven songs than to risk playing new, unproven music.
Back in radio's heyday people would listen to a station all day long. Can you imagine trying to do that with today's stations? At FreshBlend Radio, you will hear songs repeated, of course, but songs are removed from our playlist after several weeks rather than several months.
In an era where so many give lip service to "diversity," it is strange that radio is so segregated and narrow. I play the best from several different styles of music. Normally you would have to switch between several stations to hear the variety you get here. You will hear new music from Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Country, Latin, Smooth Jazz and everything in between. Furthermore, I include the top Contemporary Christian songs alongside the rest.
This station is not programmed to be somebody's personal jukebox, FreshBlend Radio challenges most tastes by playing such a wide variety of music. You are probably going to like some of the songs here more than others. If you are the type to switch stations as soon as you hear a song that is outside of your favorite style, then you probably won't last long as a listener. However, if you love music enough to appreciate being exposed to different types, then you will like FreshBlend. If you love music and want to keep up with what's current, then you're gonna love FreshBlend Radio.
This is the only place I know where you can hear virtually every song that makes it onto Billboard's Hot 100. To see what I mean, check out the MetroAmerica chart of this week's 100 most played songs on mainstream radio. You'll find that FreshBlend has played about 97% of the top 100 songs.
